Noctilucent Cloud Animation

The initial appearance and evolution during one hour of the noctilucent cloud that was made by the predawn launch of STS 131. The cloud evolved from a small very bright white patch to eventually cover much of the sky over Cape Canaveral, and only a small part is shown in this sequence.

To view this photo sequence you must have javascripting installed on your computer.

Below the animation are the controls.
"Swing Mode" set to OFF allows you to view the images in sequence, then cycle back to the beginning.
When set to ON you will oscillate through the images, first forwards, then backwards.
