John Bartoe at Visitor Complex

Astronaut John Bartoe describes his space experiences at the Visitor Complex.

That evening I took up "residence" in Titusville, with its wonderful views across the Indian River to the VAB, the new Aries support tower and the shuttle launch pads.

From there it was just five minutes drive to the Astronaut Hall of Fame, 15 minutes to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex and 23 minutes to the KSC News Center and the VAB.

In the other direction, it was just a short walk to the Titusville Space Walk of Fame museum and several minutes drive to the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge.

On Monday, April 12, I met astronaut John Bartoe at the KSC Visitor Complex and enjoyed the other attractions this centre has to offer the tourist. These included a full scale Space Shuttle Orbiter that one could go inside.
