Dawn Ride To Pad 39A

Dawn greets the Turn basin as Atlantis, unseen, is made fast on Pad 39A.

I say "quick" because I had a rendezvous back in the car park at 6:45 am. So I was up at 5 am to get to the press site by 6:30 am.

This was for what was billed as a Q&A session with the STS 132 crew. "Thomas" drove us past the VAB and along the crawlerway road to launch pad 39A.

All aboard "Thomas" for the drive along the Saturn Causeway to Pad 39A.
This must be a different shuttle I see on the pad. Last time I was here the sign said "Go Discovery!"

This time we went through the security gate and at 7:15 am drove up alongside the ramp that leads up to the shuttle.
