Space Station Payloads

View across several space station modules at the Space Station exhibition.
Space Station habitation module, which is a part of the International Space Station.
A fine model of the Mir Base Block and Kvant 1 module, as it appeared in the 1980's before four other modules were attached to this Soviet and later Russian space station. At right, as if moving in to dock with Mir, is an unmanned Progress supply craft.

From the Pad 39 Observation Gantry I skipped the Saturn 5 Building, hopping buses and arrived at the Space Station Payload Processing Facility at 3:40 pm. In addition to actual flight hardware being prepared for launch to the International Space Station, this facility has full sized space station modules that the public can walk through, as well as Skylab and Mir materials.

The space station's toilet.

At 5 pm I left for the Visitor Complex, and from there made my way back to Titusville.
