Friday April 30 was my last day in Florida. I toyed with the idea of going into Orlando to visit the Science Museum, but decided it would be too much of a rush.
So, after a swim, I packed, took a last fond look at the Vehicle Assembly Building across the Indian River, and drove to Orlando Airport. The rental car depot was conveniently located in the terminal building.
At check-in I had to repack my bags to avoid a $200 surcharge for an overweight bag. The queue to get to the security screening was half an hour long, although the screening itself, including the removal of shoes, was quite quick.
