| In the mornings the waters of the river were normally calm, offering sunglint from the rising sun. This view was two hours after sunrise. |
Late Wednesday I checked in at the Riverside Inn at Titusville. As its name suggests, this is on the banks of the Indian River, which is 7 km wide at this point. I chose a room that looks out across the river to the Kennedy Space Center.
Although 14 km away, the Vehicle Assembly Building was prominent on the horizon, and was a magnificent sight as dusk fell.
Beyond it, 20 km away, I could make out with my naked eyes the Aries and Shuttle pads.
