Inside the Press Center

The Press Center's American flag flies at half mast.

After leaving the Saturn Building I drove to the Press Center, getting there in the late afternoon. The countdown clock flag here was also flying at half mast, affording me an opportunity to take photos of it set against the Vehicle Assembly Building.

This flag photography prompted me to photograph the flags hanging from the ceiling of the main building.

Flags of many nations in the Press Center.

A lone journalist manipulates his digital photos for upload to his Internet web site. In front of him are monitors displaying NASA Television.

The Press Center housed this fine model of the Space Shuttle that sometimes acts as backdrop for television interviews. The television beyond it to the right was much consulted during critical times - it displayed the current weather information.

From the Press Center I drove south along Merritt Island and visited a maker of shirts with a space theme. Not being a wearer of T-shirts, there was nothing for me there other than a commemorative Apollo 12 DVD.
