The View From Titusville

The Vehicle Assembly Building as seen from my motel room in Titusville in the afternoon, when Florida's strong afternoon sea breezes make the waters of the Indian River choppy.
In the mornings the waters of the river were normally calm, offering sunglint from the rising sun. This view was two hours after sunrise.

Late Wednesday I checked in at the Riverside Inn at Titusville. As its name suggests, this is on the banks of the Indian River, which is 7 km wide at this point. I chose a room that looks out across the river to the Kennedy Space Center.

Although 14 km away, the Vehicle Assembly Building was prominent on the horizon, and was a magnificent sight as dusk fell.

Beyond it, 20 km away, I could make out with my naked eyes the Aries and Shuttle pads.
