It got scant attention from anyone, being placed behind the media tables and well out of sight of the VIPs, but there was a nice collection of paintings from the NASA Art collection on display.

NASA has, for many years, commissioned artists to document its activities. In many respects, this is similar to the long tradition of the Australian Defence Forces to employ war artists.

These paintings were propped up, some on the floor against a wall, others on easels, and were difficult to photograph because of reflections from the numerous lights in the building. I took these photos to give some idea of the paintings on display, and not as faithful reproductions. Hence the odd angles some the paintings appear in the photos. Even so, reflections in some were unavoidable.
